BLE Asset Tag

Rugged Bluetooth tag for tool, container and inventory tracking. Built on the Nordic nRF54L15 with Bluetooth 6.0 — ready for Channel Sounding, the precise distance measurement of the next Bluetooth generation. Configuration, commissioning and firmware updates run entirely through the app — no cable, no tools.

Wireless Sensor Node

Battery-powered wireless sensor node for long-term monitoring: temperature, humidity, vibration — populated modularly per application. Measures, logs and alerts autonomously; read out via smartphone or existing gateways. For large-area installations the nodes talk to each other — Bluetooth Mesh or Thread (802.15.4).

Event Node

The universal event node: captures events and reports them reliably — trap triggered, door opened, cabinet accessed, machine cycle counted. One universal input for reed contact, switch or light barrier, self-sufficient for years on two batteries. From a single detector to a meshed network across entire halls.

SMT Assembly

SMT assembly (surface-mount technology) of mid-size and small series on a complete inline process — from paste printing (Ersa) through placement (Yamaha YRM20, dual beam) to reflow soldering (Essemtec). The line comes online in late Q4 2026 — we are taking quote requests now.

Custom Electronic Design

Your idea becomes a product: hardware, firmware, apps (iOS/Android) and software from a single source — from feasibility study to production readiness. Low-power and connected designs on Nordic nRF, ST STM32, Espressif ESP32 and Microchip PIC — firmware on Zephyr RTOS or bare-metal: BLE, WiFi, LoRa, GPS, displays. Hardware design in Altium Designer.

About Dunkel Engineering

Dunkel Engineering is an engineer-led Swiss electronics company. We design our own products and products born from customer ideas — and build them ourselves.

Development and production under one roof means short paths, full control over quality and supply chain, and products built exactly as they were drawn. Our own SMT line in a new-build facility in the Basel region — coming online in late Q4 2026 — manufactures our product series and takes on selected assembly jobs for clients.

The name says it all: we turn light into power. Solar and power electronics operating at the maximum power point — and connected low-power devices engineered to run as long as possible on as little energy as possible: Nordic nRF, ST STM32, Espressif ESP32 and Microchip PIC, with firmware on Zephyr RTOS. BLE, WiFi, LoRa, GPS, displays.

This manufacturing expertise doesn't come from a catalogue: we built our own electronics production with SMT assembly in Hong Kong and have worked with assembly partners in China since 2014 — experience our clients benefit from today, whether production runs in Switzerland or in Asia.
